PRP INJECTIONS SHREWSBURY

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical procedure for facial and skin rejuvenation. PRP treatment uses your own blood growth factors to simulate new cell growth and collagen to help improve natural skin texture and colour as well as restore lost facial volume.

This treatment takes your blood and spins it in a centrifuge, which is a device used to separate fluids based on density, to isolate your plasma growth factors. Once that is completed, it is then re-injected into the skin or infused with microneedling. Find out more about microneedling treatment and what it involves.

PRP rejuvenates the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production, thickening and tightening the skin. It is very effective in areas where other treatments can’t be used, such as the delicate area under the eye, where other rejuvenation treatments such as lasers are not suitable. PRP improves overall skin texture and tone, giving a youthful look, as well as being used as a treatment for some skin conditions including acne and rosacea.

As we are using your body’s own powerful regenerating fluids there are no risks of allergy or rejection of the treatment.

When the treatment is applied it will take up to three weeks to see results with ongoing improvements over the next few months. Results are long lasting with patients typically seeing results for 12-18 months following three treatment sessions.

PRP may be also beneficial in other areas such as hair loss and post-traumatic scars. It is also important not to delay the start of treatment for optimum results.

PRP TREATMENT BEFORE & AFTER

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT PRP TREATMENT TYPES?

It should come as no surprise that PRP is fast becoming the go-to treatment for skin rejuvenation, improvement and repair. Scientifically proven to be both natural and safe, this procedure provides total rejuvenation to any area of skin you’d like to give a top-up. The process stimulates collagen production, which leads to a clearer, rehydrated and revitalised complexion – even after just one treatment! The majority of people opt to have several sessions however, in order to achieve optimum results. This amazing cosmetic treatment is truly revolutionary; not only does it tackle those delicate or difficult-to-reach areas but its revival effects also extend further into improving the overall health and beauty of your skin.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are a viable treatment for hair loss in men. The process typically involves obtaining a small sample of the patient’s own blood, which is spun in a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells. The plasma is then injected into the scalp using a grid pattern and usually takes around one hour to complete. A PRP treatment cycle usually consists of three injections over the course of three months. For best results, it is recommended that patients receive continued maintenance treatments every six months. Such treatments can both prevent further hair loss and encourage new hair growth, with many patients experiencing positive results after the first series of injections. Furthermore, PRP can also be used to help stimulate hair growth following a transplant procedure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Usually the area which will be treated is numbed with lidocaine before the PRP injection is administered, so the actual injection will only be slightly uncomfortable. The lidocaine will, however, wear off within a few hours, and patients may experience mild to moderate pain for a few days following the injection.

A PRP injection is a low-risk procedure and usually does not cause major side effects. PRP is naturally generated from your own blood cells, and as such any side effects would stem from the injection itself and not the contents of the PRP injection. Possible side effects may include minor swelling or bruising on the injection site.

It can take six to 12 months to visually see PRP results in the mirror, although most clients start noticing results after just 6-8 weeks. For each PRP Restoration treatment, standardised photos are taken so that you can monitor the improvement.

When used to treat hair loss, PRP therapy can help to: Thicken and improve existing hair follicles, increase blood flow to the follicle, and activate and maintain the growth phase.
