anti-wrinkle injections in SHROPSHIRE, SHREWSBURY

The development of fine lines and wrinkles is one of the most noticeable indications of ageing. In parts of the skin exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, forearms, and hands, wrinkles are a common sign of ageing. Wrinkles on the face are frequently found on the neck, around the mouth (also known as smokers lines), and around the eyes. Wrinkles develop when the skin becomes less elastic, thinner, and drier. At St. Michael’s Clinic, we provide a selection of wrinkle and fine line-targeted anti-ageing therapies.

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

St. Michael’s Clinic provides a selection of muscle-relaxing anti wrinkle injections. Depending on the areas treated, the therapy takes between 15 and 20 minutes. Before receiving therapy, every patient needs to have a complete consultation. A small, fine needle is always used to give the medication, so discomfort may occur. We can reduce this discomfort by cooling the skin in the treatment region before the injections. The muscle’s calming effect persists for four to six months. Results vary from patient to patient.

Anti-Age treatments

Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles, dramatically changing how the face looks. We lose skin elasticity as we age, which causes our skin to produce wrinkles like crow’s feet and frown lines. Over time, the facial muscles tighten and cause the skin to frown or squint. The lower face treatment prevents the sagging that comes with ageing by relaxing the pull on specific muscles.

TREATMENT AREAS

Anti-wrinkle injections are applied to the upper face to treat:
Crow’s feet lines, which arise from squinting and smiling, are visible at the sides of the eyes.
Forehead lines are typically only noticeable in younger people when frowning, but they grow more as we age.
Frown lines are the vertical lines between the brows. Patients frequently complain that these bold lines make them appear cross even when they are not. Both male and female patients benefit from injections to soften the appearance of the face.
Bunny lines appear to crease, running between the brows across the bridge of the nose. They are the lines that develop when your nose is wrinkled in a bunny-like manner. These lines fail to reappear as the skin ages, giving an older-looking appearance.
Anti-wrinkle injections are applied to the lower face to treat:
Gummy smile: Some people may find that too much of their gum shows when they smile; this is especially typical on the top palate. This is known medically as excessive gingival display. There are several techniques you can use to fix this. The most popular method nowadays to prevent the muscles in the area from pulling the lip upward is to weaken and soften them.
Chin: The form of the face frequently seems twisted if the chin is set back (receded). The procedure may aid in reducing tension in the chin-retractor muscles. This softens the profile and gives the appearance of being more naturally at ease. Because of its loss of elasticity and the influence of gravity, the skin of the lower face starts to droop naturally as we age.
Jawline: Injections into the Platysma, which is behind the jaw muscles, can assist in minimising sagging and drooping of the jawline by relaxing the muscles there.
Marionette lines: extending downward from the lip are lines. This can be treated with a toxin and dermal fillers together. To assist the skin in rising back up, the toxin will relax the muscles that are pulling it downward. Dermal Fillers may be required to aid the deeper folds further.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your injectable therapy will show results immediately, but it could take a few days or weeks for the results to manifest fully. Dermal filler effects can last up to 12 months, depending on where you got the injections. Lip injections normally last about 6 months. Anti-ageing injectables can last between 3 and 4 months.

To discuss your skin concerns and the outcomes you hope to attain, you will need to visit the clinic for a consultation with an aesthetic doctor. They will examine your skin and discuss the best course of action.

Patients with Bruxism (jaw clenching or teeth grinding) and Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can also benefit from Anti Ageing injections. If you have one of these problems, schedule a meeting with a consultant dermatologist who can advise you on the best action.
