Dr Bowen is a Consultant Neurologist on the General Medical Council Specialist Register since 1999 when he was appointed Consultant to the Armed Forces. He trained in Neurology at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London.
Prior to taking up his current post at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust, Dr Bowen was the first resident Consultant Neurologist in Lincolnshire where he worked for 8 years developing neurological services to a population of over half a million residents.
He has developed and pursued an interest in a wide range of neurological disorders and has extensive experience in the management of headache, dizziness, blackouts and epilepsy, movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease as well as peripheral nerve disorders. He has experience and expertise in botulinum toxin therapy in focal dystonia and other neurological disorders.
Dr Bowen has taken private rooms at St Michael’s Clinic, Shrewsbury and would be delighted to accept referrals from General Practitioners. Letters should be addressed as above and telephone enquiries can be directed to the secretarial team at St Michael’s Clinic.
